Show HN: OpenVideo – A self-hostable, open-source video editor in the browser
github.comOpen-source, browser-based video editor inspired by CapCut. Timeline editing, runs on modern web APIs, and can be self-hosted. Looking for feedback from devs and video folks.
Happy to answer questions. We’re especially interested in feedback around performance, timeline UX, and browser limitations for video editing.

1. We track user cpu and memory usage. we slow down based on it. 2. It renders full client side 3. It can be self-hosted already. Real-time is not close yet, we are focusing agent skills.

Thanks. For timeline, we have filmstrip concepts. only visible thumbnails are rendered.

1. Currently loading everything into memory. streaming maybe a good option. but, we have considered to reduce video quality during editing and use high quiality during export. 2. Exporting is full client side 3. Yeah, collab editing will come after MCP servers and agent skills.
